Pengertian Pronoun:

Pronoun adalah kata yang digunakan untuk menggantikan kata benda (noun) dalam kalimat. Penggunaan pronoun memudahkan kita untuk menghindari pengulangan kata benda yang sama berulang kali.

Ciri-Ciri Pronoun:

  1. Pronoun menggantikan posisi kata benda dalam kalimat.
  2. Pronoun dapat digunakan untuk menunjukkan orang, benda, hewan, tempat, atau hal lain.
  3. Pronoun sering digunakan untuk membuat kalimat lebih singkat dan jelas.

Jenis-Jenis Pronoun:

  1. Subjective Pronoun (Kata Ganti Subjek): Digunakan sebagai subjek dalam kalimat.

    • Contoh: I, you, he, she, it, we, they.
    • Contoh kalimat: She is reading a book.
  2. Objective Pronoun (Kata Ganti Objek): Digunakan sebagai objek dalam kalimat.

    • Contoh: me, you, him, her, it, us, them.
    • Contoh kalimat: I called him yesterday.
  3. Possessive Pronoun (Kata Ganti Kepemilikan): Digunakan untuk menunjukkan kepemilikan.

    • Contoh: mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs.
    • Contoh kalimat: This book is mine.
  4. Reflexive Pronoun (Kata Ganti Refleksif): Digunakan ketika subjek dan objek dalam kalimat adalah orang yang sama.

    • Contoh: myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, themselves.
    • Contoh kalimat: He hurt himself during the game.
  5. Demonstrative Pronoun (Kata Ganti Penunjuk): Digunakan untuk menunjuk sesuatu.

    • Contoh: this, that, these, those.
    • Contoh kalimat: This is my house.
  6. Interrogative Pronoun (Kata Ganti Tanya): Digunakan untuk menanyakan seseorang atau sesuatu.

    • Contoh: who, whom, whose, which, what.
    • Contoh kalimat: Who is that person?
  7. Indefinite Pronoun (Kata Ganti Tak Tentu): Digunakan untuk merujuk pada sesuatu yang tidak spesifik.

    • Contoh: someone, anyone, everyone, nobody, something, anything.
    • Contoh kalimat: Someone left their bag here.

Struktur Kalimat dengan Pronoun:

  1. Subjective Pronoun sebagai subjek kalimat:

    • She sings beautifully.
  2. Objective Pronoun sebagai objek kalimat:

    • John called me yesterday.
  3. Possessive Pronoun sebagai penunjuk kepemilikan:

    • That car is theirs.
  4. Reflexive Pronoun sebagai objek yang sama dengan subjek:

    • I prepared myself for the test.
  5. Demonstrative Pronoun sebagai penunjuk:

    • These are my favorite books.

Contoh Narasi dan Dialog Pronoun:

Narasi:
Dina sedang berbicara dengan sahabatnya, Lia, tentang buku favorit mereka. Dina membawa buku itu dan Lia ingin tahu apakah Dina sudah selesai membacanya.

Dialog:

  • Lia: Have you finished reading it yet?
  • Dina: Yes, I finished it yesterday. It was a great book! I think you will love it.
  • Lia: Really? I can’t wait to read it! Whose book is this, by the way?
  • Dina: It’s mine. But don’t worry, you can borrow it anytime.
