Pengertian Recount Text:

Recount text adalah jenis teks yang menceritakan kembali peristiwa atau pengalaman di masa lalu. Tujuan utama dari recount text adalah memberikan informasi atau menghibur pembaca melalui pengalaman yang sudah terjadi.

Ciri-Ciri Recount Text:

1. Fokus pada peristiwa masa lalu: Menggunakan kata kerja bentuk lampau (past tense), seperti went, saw, did, visited.
2. Berdasarkan pengalaman nyata: Mengisahkan peristiwa yang benar-benar terjadi pada penulis atau orang lain.
3. Struktur teks yang teratur: Biasanya dimulai dari pengenalan, diikuti oleh rangkaian peristiwa, dan diakhiri dengan kesimpulan atau perasaan penulis.
4. Kronologis: Menceritakan kejadian dalam urutan waktu (time sequence), dengan kata penghubung seperti first, then, after that, finally.

Struktur Recount Text:

1. Orientation (Pengenalan):

   • Bagian ini memperkenalkan siapa, di mana, dan kapan peristiwa itu terjadi.
   • Contoh: Last weekend, my family and I went to the beach for a holiday.

2. Events (Peristiwa):

   • Menyajikan urutan kejadian dalam cerita. Biasanya lebih dari satu peristiwa.
   • Contoh: We left the house early in the morning. The trip was long but enjoyable. When we arrived, the beach was still quiet.

3. Reorientation (Kesimpulan/Penutup):

   • Bagian ini berisi kesimpulan, komentar, atau reaksi penulis tentang kejadian tersebut.
   • Contoh: It was a wonderful day. I really enjoyed spending time with my family at the beach.

Narasi:

A Trip to the Mountain

Last summer, my friends and I decided to go hiking on Mount Bromo. We had been planning this trip for weeks, and finally, the day arrived. We started our journey early in the morning, excited for the adventure ahead.

As we climbed the mountain, the view became more and more breathtaking. We stopped several times to take pictures and enjoy the scenery. The air was fresh, and the weather was perfect. After hours of hiking, we finally reached the peak. It was an incredible feeling to stand on top of the mountain and look down at the world below.

After spending some time at the peak, we began our descent. It was much easier going down, but we were all exhausted. By the time we got back to our starting point, it was already late afternoon. Despite being tired, we were all very happy with our accomplishment.

It was a day I will never forget. The experience of hiking Mount Bromo with my friends was truly amazing.
